Lessons in Cooking
*******
Like many other aspects of this site, this is something I’m self-taught at. Well, not exactly self-taught, but home-taught. I have a mother that can cook leather to taste great, and I learned much of my cooking basics from her, as well as the basics for most of my Italian recipes. The rest I learned from books and the Food Network, and I feel it’s finally time to share some of my favorite recipes with you. These are original or family recipes only, not from cookbooks or other places.
This list will never be huge because I will only put recipes that I regularly use on here. Enjoy.
Jambalaya with Duck, Andouille, and Shrimp
- This one is my personal favorite. It is an all day job, but well worth it. This is a great recipe to make when you have a bunch of people to serve, or for a party. I cook it every year when my brother and sister-in-law and their family are in town for Christmas. It’s one that most people don’t make, so when you serve it to others, it’s unique and special.
Bacon Covered Baked Beans
- This is a nice little casserole dish, perfect of barbeques and picnics and such. Really easy to make, but takes a while to cook. I highly recommend trying this for your next barbeque.
French Onion Soup
- I’m not big on making soups, but I love to eat them. This is the first of just a few soups that you will find here. This one is pretty easy, but rather tedious to make.
Sweet and Sour Chicken
- This one is one of my mom’s recipes. I think you’ll like it.
More coming soon…
